Great idea!

"Finally, an Earth-Friendly way to move!

EarthFriendlyMoving is the country’s first comprehensive, zero-waste packing and moving system developed entirely from recyclable trash mined from local landfills.

The first significant advancement in moving and packing in more than 200 years, EarthFriendlyMoving gives relocating Americans a revolutionary,
eco-friendly alternative to cardboard boxes, petroleum-based bubble wrap, Styrofoam and other environmentally destructive moving supplies."

Anybody used them yet?

I wonder how the expense compares to moving with the typical cardboard boxes? Not that I want to move again but I would certainly consider this option first.

    1. Re: Carboard versus The Recopack! by Anonymous, 1673 days ago

Hi Happy! So far we have over 3,000 deliveries and here's what we have in our value cost analysis spread sheet as of today April 17th, 2006.

We rent the Recopack for less than .15 cents a day. If you pack and move in one week- then you save 70%, two weeks 50%, three weeks saves you 30% and 4 weeks- break even. Over 90% of our users packed, moved and unpacked in under 10 days... so they saved an average of 57% year to date. Please call us at 1.888.900.7225 if you need to pack and move again! Thanks- Spence

    3. WAY cool company! by Anonymous, 1275 days ago

Very cool company but I don't think EFM moving rents bins to the eastcoast. So i used the earthfriendly cardboard box company www.usedcardboardboxes.com online and they were awesome. These boxes were cheap, they arrived 2 days later and shipping was F-R-E-E, people... FREE.

    1. Re- Thanks for the props! by Anonymous, 1673 days ago

Thank-you Thank-you and Thank-you.... I think we need a change in how we pack and move... and the way I look at it- we have not changed how we pack in move in over 233 years.... but you can watch desperate housewives on your ipod... For over 100 Recopacks rented, we use over 500 pounds of trash and eliminate over 250 lbs of trash from entering our landfills. Please spread the word... we don't place any print ads- as paper kills trees- so we rely 100% on word of mouth advertising and people like yourself to support our premise... without trees we're fish out of water! I agree! That's a pretty neat idea. You don't really think about how much you waste when you're moving. But I am curious to know how expensive that would be...

Our average invoice is under $200- which comes with over 40 Recopacks, dollies, packing paper, packing kit, delivery pickup and so far we show that you will save over 40 hours, 50% cost savings and saving three trees!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, that's not scary at all! I wish that I had something like that in my area, I'm sure there'd be a good market for it.

We are in talks with a number of really great people with cool accents... when they say trash... it just sounds cooler than when we say it... Our mission at earth friendly moving is to change the way America packs and moves and when we rent the 1st Recopack in England- we are going to change only one word of our mission statement... instead of America we are going to change it to the WORLD! If you have any queestions- please feel free to post them and we'll respond!!!!!!! spencer brown founder of earth friendly moving
