LAPLAND UK RETURNS WITH ANOTHER ENCHANTING CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE FOR ALL THE FAMILY
After a sensational sell out inaugural year in 2007, Lapland UK is again bringing its magic to Kent this Christmas.
This year’s location will be the beautiful Bewl Water Estate which will be transformed into a winter wonderland from the 10th November until 24th December 2008.
The Lapland UK experience begins when a personalised invitation to each child from Father Christmas arrives in the post requesting his/her help to assist the Elves in the toy factory this Christmas ...and here begins the children’s magical journey along the elves’ enchanted pathway to learn the ‘secrets in the forest’!
Families will enjoy four hours of magical fun at Lapland UK. Starting with a visit to Father Christmas’s toy factory, where the children train as apprentice elves - working on the majestic, hand carved rocking horses created by the world renowned Stevenson Brothers.
Then every child will delight in helping Mother Christmas in her Gingerbread house, before moving on to Lapland UK’s very own North Pole Post Office where they can send a letter to Father Christmas.
And, whilst at Lapland UK, everyone will also learn about the indigenous Saami people of Lapland when visiting their tented encampment, where children can listen to traditional Nordic stories as well as meet the much loved Husky dogs and reindeer of Lapland.
New for 2008, families can also go ice skating in the Village Square as well as enjoy a delicious freshly prepared two-course meal in the new seated log cabin restaurant, both of which are included in the ticket price and are another unique Lapland UK feature.
But, the highlight of the day will, of course, be the family’s personalised private audience with Father Christmas in his snowy woodland home, where extra-special memories will be created as the magical man personalises each visit, referencing information about the child’s interests and
friends as provided by parents at the time of booking.
And to cap it all ... every visitor will receive a beautiful gift from Lapland UK to remember their special day!
“Our vision is to provide a high quality Lapland inspired Christmas experience here in the UK as an alternative to flying to Lapland, thus providing families with an opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint yet still enjoy a magical Christmas day trip”, said creator Mike Battle.

Looking at the website, things are booking up quickly already. Weekends are priciest, likewise the price increases the closer you get to Christmas. Tickets have only been available for 4 days and already the week before Christmas is fully booked.

We went to lapland uk at bedgebury last year and it was fantastic, £25 child, £20 adult now a ticket is £85 for the time that we went that is disgraceful! I am disgusted in the price of the tickets now. Obviously it was a great success last year and fully booked but it is greed that has allowed the price to be trebbled!

I agree with you - it's too much to go as a family even this year. I would love to take our son, but for the 3 of us, and potentially Grandma, the best part of £400 for a day is crazy. It's over the top and consequently I think will struggle to meet expectations.

You would probably be better off going to the real lapland for the extra cost.

I have booked tickets this year for UK Lapland and was a bit shocked at the price but real Lapland is £3000 so when you look at it like that.... I only hope after the dismal failure of the New Forest Lapland that they make it worth that much.

We went to Lapland UK at Bedgebury last year. Whilst we all thoroughly enjoyed it, if the cost is now £55-£85 per ticket, this is daylight robbery and this attraction will soon price itself out of the market given economic recession and the New Forest debacle! How greedy and stupid!

It would cost us £340 to go at £85 a ticket, I would say that £85, for a family of four would be better. But has been said, it comes down to greed.
And in these uncertain times I think the price is well over priced. I know that my children would love it, but at that price I think they will have to make do with the Santa at our local shopping centre, I know it won't be the same, but it will be a lot cheaper.

WE VISITED ON FRIDAY 28TH NOVEMBER.
IT CERTAILNLY WAS NOT FUN.
THERE WAS NOT FOUR HOURS OF ENTERTAINMENT, BUT LOTS OF WAITING, CHILDREN GOT IMPATIENT AND FRACTIOUS.
THERE WERE TOO FEW STAFF TO KEEP PEOPLE INFORMED.
THE ELVES WERE BADLY MADE UP, A SMEAR OF GREEN ON THE FACES OF MIDDLE-AGE, NICE WOMEN, NOT CONVINCING AS ELVES.
IT RAINED ALL DAY AND THE PUDDLES CAME UP TO OUR ANKLES. WE WERE WET AND COLD ALL DAY.
THERE WAS NO "FLIGHT" WHICH DISAPPOINTED THE CHILD.
THE CABINS WERE NOT HEATED AND WE ALL HAVE HAD A
VIRUS SINCE. THERE WERE NO DECORATIONS TO GIVE AN AIR OF AUTHENTICITY.
THE STAFF WHO WERE THERE DID TRY TO CREATE THE SPIRIT OF IT ALL BUT IT WAS ALL TOO DIS-JOINTED.
THE PROMISE DID NOT LIVE UP TO THE DELIVERY.
A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. NEVER AGAIN.

I know the price is crazy! After reading about it last year i really wanted to take my family this year but the price is just too much. I live in Tunbridgewells so it is a big dissapointment as Bewl is righ on my doorstep, although i read in the paper the other day about Santa's Magical Kingdom at the Hop Farm in Paddock wood, it sounds really nice and tickets are only £25 so my partner and i are definitley considering taking our little one there this year instead.

I have also heard about the new Kingdom at The Hop Farm and feel that £25.00 a ticket is a ticket price inline with the current economic state of the county, it's affordable, but upto £87.50 including a daft booking fee per person in December is high on daylight robbery. I have noticed that the Hop Farm has so much more to offer these days and my kids love all the new areas especially the cars they can drive. I think I will also booked the whole family of eight of us to Santa's Magical Kingdom, it would cost £700 at Lapland UK, £200 at the Kingdom, madness!

When you add up what you get at Lapland Uk for your money its probably no more than the Hop Farm only the Hop Farm charge for everything inside. You don't have to spend a penny more than your ticket price and there are no booking fees ??? Plus its top quality!

we went to the santas magical kingdom this christmas and it was a rip off ,you pay from £25-£49 depending on the day to go into a big tent to see santa and all the children got was a toy that looked as if it came out of the pound shop, and when you go out side to go on the rides you have to pay again, what a great con, the food was awful to, and the xmas market was more like a car boot sale in a tent, i have never been so dissapointed, it was rubbish, they are having it again next year and i must warn people not to go, its a total rip off.

the hop farm is run down, dirty and expensive, most of the time the rides are closed and there is no staff about, my daughter fell over and hurt her knee but the staff did,nt have a clue what to do and where to take her a complete mess. never again.
