According to the Scotsman, "more than half of consumers surveyed in Scotland are willing to pay more for products that benefit the environment, compared with just 22 per cent who are willing to pay more for designer or fashion labels".

They live "with" the environment a lot more than people in the major cities in England (esp London - some children down here never sea the coast or the countryside except from an aeroplane) so can see the impact. They do appreciate their heritage a lot more than down here /(something I noticed when I lived in Glasgow)

Interesting. I haven't been to Scotland but from what I've heard and read, what you are saying probably correct. Not as "citified" or removed from nature.
