OK, so Waitrose may be slightly more expensive than other supermarkets, but this week when I was in there I noticed something I was VERY impressed with - a new stand in the fruit and veg section with locally sourced fruit and veg. OK, there wasn't a vast range (potatoes, lettuce, radishes, strawberries and a couple of other things) but I know, from my garden, that everything they had is in season. I didn't check, but I have a feeling that much of it was also organic. And it comparably priced.... WOW!!!
