This year's festival has now been officially launched and will take place on the 19th and 20th July.
As usual,it will be in Dartford Central park and be full of live music and displays, including a circus as well as all of the normal rides and performances. I just hope the weather is better this year - I remember that last year the parade that launched it was rather thin on the ground due to the days of wet weather that lead up to it.

Dartford Festival is set to prove Britain's Got Talent with two top acts from the hit TV show confirmed to perform at this year's event. Martial Arts duo Strike and dancing dog act Kate and Gin will perform on Sunday 20 July.
The acts add to an already fantastic line up for the Dartford Festival 2008 with Jason Donovan, Chas and Dave and Matthew Crane all set to hit the stage across the weekend of Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.
Strike wowed the audience on Britain's Got Talent with a stunning mix of complicated martial arts moves and dance.
Daniel Ball, 22 and Liam Richards, 19, have 22 years experience in Martial Arts between them and have travelled across the world both together and separately competing and doing demonstrations.
The pair both run their own martial arts schools in their home towns of Doncaster and Sheffield and met at XMA - a group that runs performances and competitions for Extreme Martial Arts - entering Britain's Got Talent to raise the profile of the sport in the UK.
Kate and Gin proved to the audience and judges that it can pay to work with animals when their astonishing dance act got them through to the live final.
Kate Nicholas is a 16 year old student from Shropshire who comes from a family of dog handlers and has been training Gin since she got her as a puppy six years ago.
Before Britain's Got Talent, Kate entered competitions and demonstrations with Gin and even showed her at Crufts.

Entries sought for Arts and Crafts competitions
Dartford's cake makers, photographers and artists are wanted to display their talents at this year's Dartford Festival, taking place on 19 and 20 July.
The increasingly popular festival competitions are open to entrants and there's something for everyone, from handmade jewellery to embroidery.
Categories for residents who are good with their hands include cake making, pottery and needlecraft whilst creative minds have a host of photography, painting and flower arranging competitions to consider.
Budding young artists and craft fans can choose from a mix of competitions in the young people's section including freehand drawing and puppet making.
Horticulturist Tom Hart Dyke, from the BBC2 show 'Return to Lullingstone Castle' will hold talks in the arts and crafts marquee at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday and George Puddefoot, of Riverside Fuchsias, holders of the national fuchsia collection, will hold talks at 1pm on both days.

as Jason Donovan confirmed by council in line-up
The Australian musician and actor will perform on Saturday 19 July, bringing the first day of the weekend festival in Dartford's Central Park to a close.
Jason, famed for classic hits such as Sealed with a Kiss, Especially for You and Too Many Broken Hearts will sing a mixture of old and new material during his Saturday afternoon set.
The council's announcement means that household names will close both days of the Festival reinforcing it as the best free family day out in the South East. Chas and Dave are already confirmed in the hugely popular Sunday evening slot.
Jason will be joined by a host of acts across the two days pus off-stage entertainment including arts and crafts displays, competitions, inflatable slides and a community arena for displays and activities.
