I hadn't really thought about it before, but you would have thought that there would be a few solar fans around - the main time you want a fan is when it's sunny, so it would be an ideal combination - cool down without adding to the greenhouse effect.
I'd love to get into solar power - heating etc - but feel that we need to know that we are going to stay in one house for a long time before we start installing big systems like that. Unfortunately we're still not at the stage where people are prepared to pay a bit more for a greener house.

Great website! some of their tips are brilliant. The homemade windpower stuff is pretty interesting.

Love the solar battery-less fan idea. Brilliant! Like ecosrights said, the only time you use a fan is when the sun is shining.
