On the one hand, the ban on junk food advertising can only be a good thing, but on the other, banning wireless internet access points as school because of radiation fears is just scaremongering.
So where does the reality lie? Are we pampering kids these days, or are there more threats and greater risks than in the 60s and 70s? If the current generation of children is cautioned and conditioned into thinking the world is a precarious place, what will the next generation be like?
How do you the parents reading this deal with it all? We alll know that going with the crowd is a much easier alternative - bucking the trend of nannying sounds like a fairly lonesome place to be at times.
This is a UK-wide question but any input from your experiences outside of the UK, specifically in the US, would be very helpful.

It all started with Disney cutting back on junk food marketing and has led to Coca Cola threatening to withdraw vending machines from schools. Considering they're talking about the health of future consumers, you'd think big business would be able to make up their mind on this issue.
