While I agree with the groups of people that say Earth Day should be everyday, I also think it is a good day to get people back on track. Serves as a good reminder.
Anyone have any special plans or traditions for celebrating? Reply to this

I feel terrible for saying this but when is Earth Day? I believe it was 4/20? It's true that everyday should be Earth Day, since we live on it and need to take care of it!

Earth Day was yesterday. Sunday-April 22.
I did notice there were a lot of good environmental type shows on this weekend. Wish they were on more often.

Oh darn I still missed it. I'm surprised there wasn't anything going on in my neighborhood since this town's so stuck on preserving everything (it's a historic town, one of the cities burned down during General Sherman's March to the Sea during the Civil War, etc.)
I think I'll do my part and plant some things in my yard. Better late than never!

I love the concept of Earth Day but I just can't celebrate it. Remember in 1990 when they had a big reintroduction/anniversary celebration? A bunch of friends celebrated by climbing a mountain at Acadia National Park to see the sun rise, it was beautiful but we had a tragic accident in which my best friend fell off a cliff and died. It's terrible that I connect the two events inextricably. :(

Wow...I am so sorry to hear that. I understand that it was supposed to be a joyous event for you. To look at it from a different perspective, I think they did the ultimate thing and became one with the Earth on Earth Day...

I think I remember celebrating it by helping to plant trees when I was a kid in Chicago. I always liked Earth Day. Kids now don't even know what it's for.

Oh happy-I am so sorry about what happened! I can fully understand. I too have certain events/holidays that bring memories that may be difficult. :(
    Wishing you peace.
