... but the public will rail against it and the car manufacturers will produce some studies that say it'll kill someone...

what's wrong with just taking responsibility for yourself?

    If we're talking about breaking the speed limit in London, that's still quite difficult to do given the amount of congestion. However, it does raise the question of why cars are built to do 0-60 in 4 seconds, have top speeds of 150mph and all that nonsense.
