The children were allowed to pick whatever they liked and quickly scooped up packets of chocolate coated cereal, bags of crisps, a huge bottle of lemonade (they only drink fruit juice or water at home) and Cheese Strings - which they had seen on TV at a friends house (we don't own a TV)." children have far more sensitive taste buds which is why the strong flavours of vegetables often put them off. Junk food has a lot of artificial flavours so they know what they like.
