Chard is very, very hard to get hold of here. It's irritating because you really need to go out of the way to look for it.

I have been thinking about this....could it be that chard is a vegetable that is native to America?

I've not seen it in UK shops - only in my organic box last year! (I did wonder what it was as it didn't look the same as spinach, but was obviously related to it)

I believe it is a cool weather plant. Did some research, it's native to Europe and Asia. It's actually a type of beet. Do you have beets in the UK?
