right next door to Kelsey Farm's farm shop (great selection of fruit and veg) is Crayzee Barn, which opened in October 2006.

They've areas for young children (under 3) then the ball pools and climbing sections for older kids, all of whom will have great fun.

Parties can be arranged as well.

So why not combine a great treat for the kids with buying healthy, local produce.

Well, we've been and our son LOVED it! He walked in an his face lit up.

For anyone with younger children (pre school) I'd advise going during term time before 15:00 (they are open from 10:00 to 18:00 and only charge £4 off-peak, £4..40 peak) as then the youngsters can play anywhere they like and it's fine for parents to follow them in (remember that you all need to dress appropriately as it's quite a challenge for adults to get around as well).

In the small area there's a slide, ball pool and a number of shapes to be climbed on. When we went this was full of under twos. The main area is quite an obstacle course, with a large ball pool, great steps, punch bags, gym balls to navigate around, 2 great slides (one was under cover).... an on it goes.

I was impressed to see that the meals they served (standard sausage, fish fingers, chicken nuggets etc with chips or baked potato) all came with a small bowl of salad.

There's even an outdoor adventure area being opened later in the year, so that'll be great when the weather picks up. We'll keep an eye out and post here when the details are announced.

Definitely a good trip out - be prepared for a worn out, but excited child afterwards!

We've now been to a couple of parties at Crayzee Barn and they go down really well with all of the kids.

Even at the weekends it isn't over crowded, which is great and means that if adults need to go in to help, they don't mind (although advice to adults - those 5 and 6 year olds can get around at quite a pace, so watch out!)

The food is good as well (although really a bit too early in the party in my mind as it was before the half way mark). Fresh tomatoes, cucumber and carrots on the table along with bowls of raisins, then fish fingers, cheese burgers, sausages in rolls, slices of pizza, veggie burgers, a few chips (I think there were 2 bowls for 16 kids) and battered chicken pieces. None of it was covered in fat (in fact there was no grease or fat at all on the rolls that had the sausages in - I was very impressed by that).

The toilets are always clean as well - there is even a small one for younger kids.

All in all I'm very impressed with the place and would recommend it to anyone with young kids, especially those that like climbing and running around, but also for those that need to gain more confidence in climbing etc as it's a safe place to learn.
