Hello, i have just taken an Emergency First Responder class for fun and i beleive that every family should take this if their child/children is old enough becuase this course and courses like this give usefull information to people who do not know how to respond in an emergency. When i took the class i was taught how to do CPR, use a refribulator, use a breathing mask, how to respond to an emergency, and other usefull information. The class took me about 3 hours and i feel was worth it. I think taht the class can be taken in a red cross facility or the YMCA i took mine from PADI the scuba diver's association. Again i beleive that this class provides very valuable information which can prove usefull in a dire situation.

There are lots of groups in the UK that do basic first aid training, but the main, certified training, comes from St John's Ambulance and I agree, it's definitely worth having the fundamental training, especially if you have kids.
