There's lots of fab. farm shops, local farmers' markets markets in Battle and in the surrounding area--and a wonderful bakery, organic shop in Hastings old town--Judges--the people are friendly and helpful.
I am moving back home to Wales this summer when I retire from teaching, and intend to set up some sort of "directory " of local produce---maybe I --with your help could start a "100 mile club " in Wales!!

   I've only been to Battle once a few years ago, but it was a lovely experience. Judges sounds like exactly the kind of shop every town would want - an organic bakery with local staff.
   
   We've been discussing the idea of a directory of local produce for quite some time, it's certainly something we intend to build so perhaps your 100 mile club in Wales would be the perfect opportunity. Please do keep in touch when you start your retirement!
