With spring approaching many are preparing their gardens. Anyone here plant vegetables or flowers?
I planted some seeds yesterday. We have to wait for the final frosts to come before we put too much out. Reply to this discussion / Report this discussion

Well our garlic and shallots are well established now and the pepper seeds are beginning to come through (indoors). i've got potatoes in, but I fear that the frosts we've had over the last few days will have killed them off, so I'll have to put some more in soon.

Then we've got the onions that didn't come through last year, but have suddenly decided to grow! (I hope something comes of them) and the strawberries that are trying to take over more of the garden. I've decided to try to treat them a lot better this year.

I've also got basil, celeriac (an experiment) and some other seeds growing in tray indoors. We'll see how it all goes - I'm hoping to have a really productive season this year. A lot of this will depend upon if the hosepipe ban is reinstated this year or not. I hope it isn't as it takes a long time to keep everything watered sufficiently when I have to carry watering cans down the garden. Standing down their with the hosepipe for 5 minutes will be much more effective.

I'm curious, what is celeriac? I have been bringing home lots of garlic myself. Can't get enough of the stuff! My mom has to tell me to stop because she can't keep up making dishes with all the garlic I've brought.
