Acted as the technical lead on all projects for clients in the UK and Australia such as Virgin, MCn and BlueSQ. Administered a growing number of servers to handle large volumes of traffic reliably and securely. Prototyped and built a number of popular casual games including WordSlider and Jewel Thief. Built and maintained a modular, object oriented PHP framework that was able to properly interface with different platforms, such as ASP and dotNet, via APIs using REST and XML-RPC.

• The first Web 2.0 website for casual games, written using MySQL, PHP and Python. The Millions Of Games framework has full support for tagging, RSS feeds, RESTful URLS and dynamic caching to create a true folksonomy of online games.

• Popular games websites that utilise a PHP framework to handle large numbers of different games from developers around the world. Architected the system to support a wide array of user statistics and scoreboards whilst being flexible enough to communicate with a number of third-party payment, advertising and mailing list systems. In order to handle an increasing amount of traffic both websites were migrated to a load balanced setup.

  Assisted in the creation of the first online Time Out subscription service, eatdrink.timeout.com, using PHP, Quark, XML and MySQL. Worked as part of a small team to update the existing Time Out website and supporting mobile service with content taken from directly the magazine.

  Built location sensitive, cross platform applications using PHP, WML, XML, MySQL and PostgreSQL for the main UpMyStreet website and digital television service on Sky. Developed extensions to the website that handled data from Government departments, public services and local authorities. Led the code review to re-factor a code-base in constant use by a large number of experienced developers. September 2000 - November 2001
