Framework clones from the borg collective

All these php/perl and python rails clones are all upfront about cloning rails, mainly because they’re open source projects and it’s therefore OK to be influenced by existing products. My prediction for late 2006/early 2007, therefore, is an ASP or .Net based rails clone from Microsoft that features a code generator, scaffolding and strict model/view/controller separation of code with one exception – no mention of being a rails clone whatsoever.

My other prediction for late 2006/2007 is regarding Windows Vista. Given the high proportion of real features (not bugs) that have been pulled from Vista (just like WinFS, et al), the straw that breaks the camels back is not going to be the Halo 2 requirements that attempt to force hardcore gamers to upgrade, rather it’s going to be much bigger.

I can exclusively reveal that Microsoft are soon to annouce that Solitaire is going to be dropped from Vista in order for Microsoft to launch it on time.

Trust me, share prices will fall. Heads will roll. Old ladies will be mightly upset. It’s the true power of Casual Games! They dare not do it..
