Co-Opportunity - The IGF Finalists

The IGF finalists have been announced, according to Slashdot. I’m pleased to see Dofus in there.
More strikingly, though, is another request for a decent co-op game by a poster on Slashdot. What went wrong with co-op games? I’m guessing that someone, somewhere must really despise them since there’s plenty of money being spent on advanced game AI, MMORPGs and the like, but little or no support for co-op modes in games anymore.
Not the first time that this has been brought up on Slashdot either. I’ve had a co-op post drafted for some time, I’m going to go back to it to see if it still makes any sense…
