I’ve submitted many interesting stories to Slashdot and had them rejected. I don’t know why but I still submit them - when I find an interesting story that’s not on Slashdot, I submit it.
Recently I signed up a new account and submitted another story. Not just any old story though, after I submitted it I realised that it was a dupe. So I was pretty surprised to see that my ‘frist post’ to Slashdot was actually a dupe.
