Saw this mentioned briefly in the Guardian today - Oxfam run a service which lets you bring in your trinkets and have them valued *for donation*. You don't come away with pockets of money but that's not why you're doing it.

Personally, I like the idea of this. I think a lot of people are put off donating some of stuff in the loft since it they don't think it has any real value.
