British Gas and Windsave are teaming up to "install and maintain residential roof-top windmill". I remember reading up on the help the Government provides if you fit solar panels to your house, it was practical for us then but I'd be more than happy to fit a mini-turbine, especially if the Government sponsored the initial fees.

In some parts of the world harnessing the wind for energy really works. Never been to Scotland but sounds plausible to do there.
