Wonderful secondhand bookstore in Alnwick, Northumberland-located in the old railway station- well worth a visit! My partner and I are avid readers and frequently take books we've read to them and exchange them for others. You can open an account with them by taking books in and come away with new reading matter without a penny changing hands! They will give cash for books taken in (it usually takes 15-20 minutes for them to do an assessment on the value of the books you've taken in, but that time can be spent browsing through the thousands of books on their shelves!) but we always use their bartering system. Great section for children of all ages, with plenty of seating for them to relax and look at/read books from the shelves. They also sell great tea, coffee and delicious local bakes/cookies. It's worth a visit just to see the fantastic mural of well-known authours!
