Well, although it's not much in the grand scheme of things, £15M helps. I didn't even realise that Cycling proficiency was still around.

An interesting quote:
"The Conservatives said that, despite the government's pledge to treble cycling trips from the 2000 level by 2010, there had been a decline in the number of cycle journeys in Britain."


It doesn't surprise me that numbers are down - although I love cycling, I don't do so very much over here - I don't feel safe. Each time I've been to the Netherlands though, it's the only form of transport I use - they respect cyclists, which makes and enormous difference.
