I am very interested in homeopathic medicine and am trying to find a practitioner near me to consult with. However I actually think there are some conditions that cannot be treated effectively any other way than with conventional medicines. What are people's thoughts on this? Reply to this

I would recommend talking to a chiropractor. They are usually very educated about holistic treatments, and are able to tell you when it is time to see an MD

I've been to homeopaths for allergies for both me and my son and found it to be VERY good. It's great for dealing with on going "niggles" - things that aren't severe, but have an impact on your daily life - hay fever, colds etc.

I have very good results giving my little ones homeopathic remedies for colds/viruses. I do agree that one should consult someone who is knowledgeable in the field. Maybe doing a search for Naturpaths in your area may be helpful also.

I've never heard the word Naturpath before, Evie. What type of practitioner does that refer to? The chiropractor is a good idea too, thanks to the poster who suggested it.

Pretty much the same as an ND (naturpathic doctor).
They use a broad range of modalities to help ease symptoms. They use a holistic approach.

I've had amazing experience of a chiropractor - it was a long time ago, but they way they treat the body as a whole is great. I now know, from the treatment I had about 10 years ago, which part of my back is tender when my asthma is playing up and know that massaging that area helps significantly, likewise applying heat to it as it tends to be VERY sore if my breathing is bad.

In the UK the recognised body is the Homeopathic Association . You can search for a local practioner on there.
